Welcome to Coolum Vet Surgery

Meet Our Veterinarians

Dr Brian Collingwood
Started working in Gympie and liked it so much I bought the mixed practice. Managed to get married to Anne and have 4 children- although with working such long hours most of Gympie didn’t even realise I was married, much less had children ( Andrew, Christopher, Nick and Kate all have Gympie on their passports and love it!)
My practice in Coolum Beach was set up from scratch in 1993, starting in Birtwill St, then moving to the purpose built surgery on Coolum – Yandina Rd in 1998.
My other kids = Rugger a 9 year old Cream Labrador that loves the beach and anybody that says hello to him. His main job is trying to keep his owner healthy by taking him for runs every morning. And of course there is Mawson our young Birman cat that knows that we are all put on earth to take care of him and tell us so.. He does show his appreciation by lying all over you as soon as you sit down!
Interests = Family, surf/beach, snow, cycling (no lycra), wine and rugby (Long suffering QLD Reds supporters)

Dr Julian Forbes
Always had an affinity for animals. I graduated from Melbourne University in 2013, and have since enjoyed the interaction with clients and their pets. I feel very privileged to have the opportunity to work with you to ensure the best possible health for your pet. I understand that it can be distressing when your pet is unwell, and my approach is to work through the problem with sensitivity towards both you and the patient. When I’m not working with animals, I’m generally at home relaxing with my partner Wei and our two cats, listening to music or enjoying various sports.
